Beispielhotel Linz

Step-free entrance, wide doors, written policy for the accessible room.

Photo to follow

The main entrance is step-free with a threshold of roughly two centimetres. The entrance door measures 92 cm clear width and opens automatically. The lift serves all floors; controls sit at 110 cm but carry no braille labelling.

The accessible room is on the first floor. The bathroom has a level-access shower with a folding seat and grab bars on both sides of the toilet. Turning space in the bathroom is around 150 cm.

Staff knew the room specifications and quoted exact measurements without looking them up.

Biggest barrier

Lift controls are not tactile. Blind guests cannot select a floor independently.

Standout detail

The accessible room is held exclusively for guests who need it until 14 days before arrival — written policy, known at reception.

4 of 5 The award is a gesture towards the venue. Rely on the measurements below, not on it.
